The final judgment is given to us under the picture of the son of God, the King seated on His Glorious Throne and of the shepherd.
1- The Aspects of the will of God:
- God’s face was manifested in Jesus, as an Omnipotent Judge, as a Glorious King, as Son, and as a Shepherd who knows His sheep, who loves them and calls them by name.
- Although He’s a judge, King, Son and Shepherd, Jesus has chosen to be the most humble of the humbles.
- That is why after His Resurrection, the disciples did not recognize Him because he had put on the face of all men especially the most needy.
- At the end of His Evangelical test, Jesus reveals the face of the Father which is His blessing and not His curse: “'Come, you who are blessed by my Father” whilst He said only to the others: 'Depart from me, you accursed…”.
2- Who are the Just??
- The just are born in this world, just as the yeast in the flour, until the final judgment. Because only God knows them, and knows what is in the depth of their heart.
- The just are those who exercise good acts throughout their daily lives towards their needy brothers.
- The just are members of the people of God, who performed good acts with love towards their neighbour without even realizing it.
3- Where does their justice lie??
- Through their recognition of the grace and blessing of God; through their attitude and their way of acting; through their reaction towards the needy and the suffering of others, and through their free love.
How can we live this Word today?
- Do we look and search how to practice charity, which is the well of joy for our human and Christian life, throughout our daily life.
- How do we practice our good acts? Is it with free love or with a selfish interest?
Father, we pray for our brothers and sisters who left this world, that they receive their reward for the free and loving service they have accomplished towards their neighbours. Give us a generous heart to serve you through our brothers that we might one day, merit to dwell with you and to praise you along with all the other blessed and just, in your kingdom. Amen.
